Why you lose your balance
When a healthy person stands up, the body will balance automatically. Since balancing and walking are practiced daily many times, the brain stores the sequences necessary to an automatic response (habit).
People easily move about without any thoughts about how to move. The brain responds with the proper sequences of muscle control for the movements when a person wants to move.
As people age, they stand less and do less walking. This causes the muscles to weaken which causes a loss of control. Plus, the added body assault of modern day chemically saturated high calorie food, the aging body is seen as a natural thing for the elderly.
This is not true!
The real reason that the body weakens is because it has not been maintained to keep the muscles in tone and good condition. People get use to the “easy life” letting modern conveniences do the work for them.
They ride or sit everywhere and forget that the body needs to move. It is the undeniable law that unused muscles deteriorate and become hard to use.
Use them or lose them!
Sure, the body isn’t the same after many years. The reaction time can be slower or the range of motion (ROM) may be less due to injury, disease or lack of use. The muscles still basically work the same. The learned skills function without the person having to think about what the individual sequence is needed to walk.
Out of shape people can be seen in many other age groups besides the elderly. The health trend here in the U.S. is for the population to be heavier with each passing year. A walk through any busy mall will show not only the adults, but the younger generation struggling along to move around.
How Third World Countries Are Doing
It is well documented that once a third world country starts to adopt modern ways the health of the population starts to decline. Many authorities blame it on the diet. That is only part of the reason.
Kids want to sit and play all the new digital computer games or text their friends from the modern digital products available today. Their young body is subjected to the same laws as everyone else. Over time their muscles get weak which keeps them from doing any physical activities involving usage of the larger leg and body muscles.
Of course since digital products required only brain activity and little physical action, no one hardly ever notices the gradual change that happens to their body.
It’s no different for the adults who spend hours watching tv to keep up with the latest antics or problems of the characters in the current craze series. No physical activity slowly weakens their muscles and no one notices or shows any concern.
The Results
If you are late to work or school, you get in trouble with the boss or the principal. When you’re late for dinner, you get in trouble with the cook or your friends who sat there waiting for you. If you don’t exercise, who complains? Your body will eventually when you are too stiff and sore to move. Will you remember all the times you forgot to move your muscles to keep in shape?
The key to the poor health issues that are facing the world’s population isn’t the newest wonder drug that the pharmaceutical companies manufacture, but a sensible natural diet and physical exercise for better overall health.
Use your muscles or become the tired old hard to move person as the result of all of your neglect.
